Hey ya'll, this is my 1st post. I just bought a little b6000. Told by dealer it is a US model and originaly sold here in Odessa. It has a front loader, need a little work on hydrolics and glow plugs, but most is in working condition just need a little elbow and seal work on the front end. I have ordered a parts and service manual ( not in yet ) . The main problem I have and not sure where to start is in the three point. The lever on the side of the seat acts like it wants to move to up position ( unit is up all the way/ top side. Just move in that direction when pus forward.) when I pull lever opposit direction has kind of a fluid bypass noise, not a gear grind or any thing like that? 3 point gear shaft does seam to rotate normally. First tractor and not clear on operation of the back side of this ride. I really want to get this working so I can get a small box blade to work my roads on my 5 acres. Thanks and hope to hear from some of you? Jimbo Fine Odessa TX

Welcome to the site, Jimbo. There is a "3 point descent speed" control, usually below the seat, that controls how quickly the 3 pt lowers. If that handle is turned all the way in it locks the 3pt in place... it will not lower. That's where I would start.

I'm not sure about your "3 point gear shaft"... I assume you are referring to the PTO?

Lots of reading here that will get you up to speed in no time.

Hey davro, thanks I'll give her a look when I get home tonight. so if I get this right there is the lever that slides front to back, and another to adjust speed? or is it the same one and that lever screws in to adjust speed? and yes the gear is the PTO, I have hear that you need an adaptor for these models to retro fit aftermarket attachments? One other thing what would any of you recommend for blade attachment (size, MFG or such?)? and is there anything very cool-school that is a must have for this tractor?? Or anything I should stay away from?? Thanks Again to all!! Jimbo

Jimbo, I'm not actually familiar with the B6000. The descent speed control is fairly standard, but I cannot be specific about your tractor.

It is not the same as the 3pt lever. It is a knob that turns CW / CCW. It's often in a place that if you need to turn in your seat to look behind you it is possible to hit it with your heels, inadvertently locking the 3pt in the up position. Straight down from the seat, between your legs at shin height.

Welcome to TBN, Jimbo!
If the 3pt doesn't drop, check the drop speed control valve, as others have mentioned.
If that valve is open and it still won't drop, put some weight on the hitch and see if that does the trick.
Our little B5100 sometimes needs a little "help" until it's fully warmed up if it doesn't have an implement hitched up. Let us know how you make out.

I owned a B6000 many moons ago and it also ( like Baby Grands 5100) needed help to lower when there was no emplement attached to the 3pth lift arms.

There is no "power down" for most 3 pt. hitches. It could just be stuck up from not moving or more likely the drop speed control valve may be fully closed. Maybe a little lube and some weight attached will get it working.

I have a littler B4200. No decent control. If you are using external hydraulics (Loader) there may be a switch below the seat with an arrow on it. If you want to use the 3pth I turn it to the left, to the right is for Loader and then you have to push the 3pth control to the rear to engage the loader. If it is squeeling when you try to move the 3PTH lever, it means the loader position is selected. (This is if your 15 hp tractor is like my 1986 12 hp
