b5100 ext valve

happy new year everyone.i want to fit a tipping pipe to my b5100 .although it dosnt have a diverter valve under the seat it has an outlet thet is blanked off.does anyone know if a tipping pipe can be tapped in here and if the trailer will tip when the tpl has reached the top or could this damage something in the tractor.Failing this is it possiable to fit a diverter valve and where can they be got?

Not sure what would happen if you tapped into that plug.. it would only get oil when you move the 3pt lever???

In the parts manual for 6100 and 7100 it shows a cap assembly which gives you the valve, 66404-36600 is the part number for both a 6100 and 7100 and looks like it is $118.27 at TractorSmart. You could verify that PN is also for a 5100 with your local dealer.

Thanks charles tried connecting the pipe and when 3pl lever is raised oil flows but the linkage rises if there is more weigth in the trailer than on the linkage .When the linkage reaches the top it automaticly pushes the lift lever to the down position thus stopping the tipping so looks as if i need to fit the diverter.the valve isnt shown in detail on the owners manual so unsure if the valve at tractorsmart is everything i need as in cover or not.Asked local dealer and he has no info on such an "old tractor".located in ireland so dont want to pay shipping charges to find out i am still short more parts.any further help greatly appreciated

Yeah thats pretty much what I would assume happens, which is why they make the cap/valve.

Here is a pic from the parts manual of a b7100 with a clip from the parts list below that. I believe it includes the cap, lever and 'spool' assemblies. Appears to be everything you need with the assumption that the b7100/6100/5100 all use the same parts.

The part you don't get Ref. 26 is a little o-ring that is similar to what is already there but has a different part number so you might need that: 04810-05110

You also might want to change the o-ring on the piston while you are ordering parts and have it apart: 04810-08500. If implements on the 3pt take a while to leak down you might not want it.

You might be able to send an email to a US dealer and confirm that these part numbers are the same for a b5100.

I was thinking about this today. I don't think you can use just the valve under the seat to raise/lower the trailer. I think you are going to need to have another valve. I don't know much about hydraulics but I think once you turn that valve under the seat all the oil is going to be trying to go that way. If it 'dead heads' it will break your pump or something else. I would ask in the hydraulics forum to be sure. I think a 'rear remote' is in order here.

Hi Charles thanks for the info the lift lever contoles the oil flow at the port so i think with the diverter valve in place the lift control lever should tip and lower the trailer.I presume there are no internel differences between modles with and without the valve?

I don't know as I have never actually used it. I suppose if you have a single acting cylinder you can run just one hose? putting the lever into the 'lower' position would drop it? Might be a bit slow depending on how heavy the trailer is empty.
