I have a B2920 with a kubota 60" MMM. When im mowing the deck will lower the cutting heigh by itself. My yard is rough and when you hit a few bumps the deck height gauge will just start spinning and lowering the mower. Anyone ever have this problem? Im not sure what the fix would be. All my anti scalp wheels are set 1/4" from the ground like the manual says.

Mowed a couple times with mine now and no problems. Stay where I set it and my yard is rough too.

Does it ever cut nice compared to my old lawn tractors.

I don't have a definite answer, but do have a B2620 with the same deck. I am guessing that maybe the wheels on the deck are hitting the ground causing tension to be released off the dial on the floorboard. When the tension is released it could be letting the dial turn. This is just a guess, I've not had the problem myself.

I suspect that the same thing has happened on a few occasions in my experience. Usually it bumps it just one notch lower. Thus I do keep an eye on the dial and watch the gauge wheels to see how they are riding. Sometimes there are gravel ridges along the road, shallow ruts, or just plain bumps that raise one side of the deck that may account for the setting to change. I mow at the middle range at about 2800 rpm with the foot to the floor on the straight aways, but slow down near the obvious rough. Every now and then, however, a real bump jars my teeth, and thus the deck also. Maybe the dial setting wasn't all that secure to begin with. I change the setting depending on the weather and the height of the turf...usually from 2 3/4" to 4". Then too, the deck has to be moved to the "Top" position when the Kubota is loaded on the trailer. So this dial thingy is getting moved quite often. Most of my work takes about 2 hours at a time. Overall it hasn't been a big issue for me.
Cheers,
Mike

I did move the anti scalp wheels down to about a quarter inch off the ground but it didn't help. Does your guesses knob for deck hiegh have any tension on it when the deck is up and you turn it?

I always put my dial on 00 and lower it after pulling on trailer. My thinking is it might keep unnecessary loads off of mower. 500 + hours and no problems so far.

Yes, there is some tension on the knob when it's turned. I wouldn't say it's much, but definitely tension.

As a rule, the deck height dial stays where I set it. I can feel it as it seats in. At most mine may drop one notch. I've never had it "start spinning" as Diller describes. Maybe some tension adjustment is needed per your dealer, although I'm personally not familiar with such an adjustment.
