B2910 VS JD 4200

I HAVE A B7100 THAT IS 4 YEARS OLD...ONLY 380 HOURS. I HAVE BEEN VERY HAPPY WITH IT BUT AM LOOKING TO UPGRADE TO A LARGER TRACTOR. I HAVE 9 ACRES...4 OF WHICH IS GRASS TO MOW...I DO ALOT O LANDSCAPING...BLOW SNOW IN THE WINTER .. ALSO WANT TO CLEAR AND DEVELOP THE REMAINING ACRES WHICH ARE WOODED AT THIS TIME..

I LIKE THE 2910 BUT AM 6 FOOT 2 ...I FIND THE REVERSE PEDAL IS HARD TO REACH...THE SEAT DOES NOT GO BACK FAR ENOUGHT..
I HAVE TWO DEALERS EQUIDISTANT ....BOTH I SUSPECT WOULD GIVE GREAT SERVICE AND I HAVE NEGOTIATED THE SAME PRICE ON TRADE IN FOR MY B7100 (ESSENTIALY 10,000 PLUS MY B7100 FOR A NEW TRACTOR WITH LOADER) I SUSPECT THE 4200 WILL BE BETTER WITH TWO PEDALS OUT FRONT..I ALSO LIKE THE IDEA THAT IT HAS MORE WEIGHT (FOR USING IN THE WOODS..) WHAT IS THE VERDICT? B2910 OR

Sounds like you've answered your question...Test drive them both and get the one that feels right. It's your money, they are both great tractors.

I tried a JD4200/HST with a 60" finshed mower and a PTO TRAC-VAC and a 60" snow blower. It did not have the power I wanted. The snow blower (with 10" of heavy snow) was a slow process. The mower/Vac was also slow unless it was down hill. I traded up to the 4300/HST. Good improvement, but I only have 14 hours on the 4300. I think I will be happy after it's broken in. I did not try the 2910 but it has a little less HP than the 4200. I would think you would want at least the JD4300 or maybe a JD4400 or the next size larger Kubota. The seat adjustment on the JD 42,43 or 4400 will move back to give me room. I'm 6'2" and weight 270#.

Yes on the next size tractor. I'm not sure about pricing in your area but in Mid TN a L3010 32HP was...about $800 more.I'm working from memory here so I may be off a little, but it wasn't too bad or I wouldn't have done it. The difference in the tractors was size. They both may have 30HP or so but the 3010 is a lot bigger. Sit on one next to a 2910 and you will see. A lot more heft to the 3010.
