I am wondering if anyone has used a B2781A 51inch front mount blower on a B7510HSD machine. I have had the Bx2750 blower for the past 8 years and it needs to be retired. I clear a driveway about 1400 ft long and 2 cars wide with a fan out to a 3 bay garage. The driveway is partially paved with the remainder being gravel. Therefore, the blower does take some punishment. I have seen the B2781 and it is clearly a made from a higher grade steel which is evident by it being nearly twice the weight as the BX2750. I have generally been satisfied with the lower grade model, but am considering upgrading to the heavier duty unit. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

I used that blower for three years on my 2620. I just traded my 2620 for a 3350 and kept the blower as it is a work horse for my 400 foot gravel, sand, and rock drive. That thing is bullet-proof! I just added the drift breaker to the blower so I can clear more width and almost cover the tires. In three years I had to replace one shear bolt!

I use a B2781 on the 3pt of my BX24. Only problem is that in this config it is direct drive at 540rpm, which is not quite fast enough... doesn't throw snow far enough, especially when wet.
In your application with mid pto adapter & gearbox, it should hopefully turn the impeller closer to 1000rpm.

A business customer put a B2781A on his B2400HSD last season-results were good!
He replaced his B2660 blower which was shot.
Parts were available to make it happen, although there were some issues getting the correct propeller shaft.Would make a nice upgrade!

sandyc-what is this drift breaker you speak of?
I've seen talk of drift knives and such, but never seem to remember to ask when at the dealer.
Thanks!

Hi number two: the drift breaker kit bolts on both sides of the blower and is curved outward such that it adds a few inches of width to the blower intake. Guess you could think of it as a funnel shape but flat....I'll try to get some pics of it and post if I can dig it out of my barn. You have to drill holes for the breaker to attach to the side as well as for the top braces for each side. Believe they are available for most blowers. Cost is a bit north of $100 usd and is easy to install once you figure out the drawings. The sales guys can order thru the whole goods catalogue.

sandyc,thanks for the info.
A picture would be great, but please do not go out of your way!
Anything to funnel more snow into the blower when the snow total is smaller is of interest.
