B275 PTO hard to shift

I bought 2 weeks ago a diesel B275, installed a snow blower, and PTO very hard to engage and noticed an oil leak by PTO end. Want to check oil level before using snow blower but don't find where to check. Also if oil level is low, what kind of oil will be used ? Thanks for help

The PTO on my old International is usually difficult to engage while the motor is running even at idle so I make sure to move that lever to engage the PTO as I am turning the key to start the motor. If I remember correctly the PTO has been difficult to engage since day one back in the seventies and it seems no amount of clutch adjustment improves the situation. One can also easily engage the PTO when stopping the motor.
