I could use some help here.

I am pricing a B2710 in southern New Hampshire. A visit to the dealership resulted in the following quote:

- 2710 w/402 FEL............$16900
- 60" mmm.....................$..2350
Total...............................$19250

I think this is at least $1000 to high and said so. They then knocked off $250, which in my book is still almost $1000 too high. (Especially so in this weak economy.)

What do you guys think? I'd like to buy one, but only at a fair price. Should I just go in there an offer what I think is reasonable take it or leave it style? Any and all advice would be appreciated.

BTW, I am alread familiar with
http://www.kazez.com/~will/kubota.html

Thanks in advance,

DLC, prices do vary in different parts of the country, but I agree with you; seems a bit high. I paid $15,500 for a B2710 with LA401 loader, but it's been two years ago. So add a bit for two year's worth of inflation, but it still seems high. You may notice that fishman recently bought a B2910 (same dealer I've bought my tractors from) for less money.

I just bought a 2710 with FEL and R4's along with a couple extras foldable rops and block heater as that was what the dealer had available at that time and I paid 15,400. Additional 300.00 shipping uhless I wanted to pick it up. Hope this helps. I also live in NH and found none here that could come close. This is my second tractor purchase and the original dealer in southern NH did not come close.

Let me guess - Chappell's? They are top dollar in their tractor pricing. When I bought, I found other dealers in about a 50-75 mile radius were not much better, so I picked the local dealer. Even Carver's came in not much less. Perhaps they've figured that pricing is high in the NE and are taking advantage of it.

Let us know who you finally pick and what the price is.

High techie, reciently founded a startup company and struggling for tractor time.

Yup, Chappell's.

It seems the price is high. The question is what to do about it?

Yukon,

From what dealership did you buy your tractor?

Chappel and MB (formerly Mears) have about the highest
prices around and aren't interested in discounting. So I
bought my 2910 from Steve Carver. For that price you
can probably get a 2910 delivered from Carver. You might
also check with Robert Wolff at Woodbury Tractor in CT,
(203-266-4845), who has great prices and has been known
to deliver to NH, MA, and ME.

From Emerich's Sales and Service out of NY. The sales Rep that I dealt with is Jim Crane and the number is (518) 399-8574. As my post indicated the foldable rops and the block heater were an added bonus not computed in the price.
