Hi,

Just purchased a Kubota B2650 with the BH77 and decided to order some rear remotes for it, after talking to the dealer they called me back and said the factory kit (B5340) has a note that says it can't be installed if it has a backhoe. Not having one to compare with or a part to test fit, the only thing I can think would interfere would be the valves would be in the way of the seat when flipped around as it bolts to the inside of the ROPS, perhaps just needs to be moved to the outside of the ROPS? The cab models have the valves mounted below and levers that come up beside the seat and I wondered about ordering that kit, it looks like the rear seat support would interfere with the levers and would require some fabrication, although it would look nicer than valves bolted to the ROPS.

Anybody else run into this or maybe have either style kit installed without any issues?

Thanks in advance,

Kyle

Can't comment on the B2650, but on my L3200 it was obvious that the kit was designed/fit very very specific, to the point where some of the instructions were erroneous or ignorant because they assumed everyone's L3200 was equipped the same. I suspect they build it to fit whatever tractor variation they have to mockup and don't plan for variations.

I suspect you could modify either kit to work, although you'd possibly need to make custom hoses, which means the ones in the kit (that you paid $$$ for) would go to waste.

You could also put together your own setup with generic valves and hoses, so keep that in mind. It costs a lot less too.

Thanks for the reply s219,

I think I'm going to make a trip back to the dealer and see if I can make the cab model valves fit, although it is not a rush. Perhaps the dealer will make a call to Kubota and see if they plan on making a kit to work with models equipped with a backhoe, I can't be the only one out there with the same setup.

In the meantime I can do what the dealer suggested and run the hoses to the third function valve since I won't be needing it until I buy a grapple.

I purchased a new B 2650 in June of 2015. I ordered it with fel, third function control, turf tires, two sets of rear remotes and a BH 77 backhoe. I sat down with two different dealers and they were both able to look up the part numbers and prices without any issue. I have had the tractor now for 5 months and approximately 120 hours and I can assure you the rear hydraulics and the backhoe work well together and are no issue. I don't know where your dealer is getting his information but at least in my experience is not accurate. If I can help you out in any way I certainly will, just reply and let me know.

Thanks for the reply Drussell, do you happen to know the part number for the kit? And would you be able to post a picture if it's not too much to ask? I also had quotes from two dealers that listed part numbers and decided I'd wait and see if I needed them before adding something I wouldn't use. Now I have a read blade that has hydraulic angle that would be nice to use.

The kit they list for the rops version looks to be just simple valves bolted to the rops with the levers directly on the valves. I have been doing more looking and wondering if a kit for the B2630 would fit and the levers would go to the right side level panel in place of the power outlet/pocket.

Thanks again,

Kyle

Your welcome Kyle, the kit number is B 5340 - rear hydraulic control for B 50 ROPS tractors. The installation and parts manual says estimated installation time one and a half to two hours. The controls are mounted to the valve unit and the leavers are about 3 inches behind the power outlet on the right hand side at about the level of the back of the seat. It's actually a very slick unit and quite user friendly. It cost me $1,350 installed when I bought the tractor. I have lots of pictures I will try to send but I will be honest I don't know how to post pictures at this time. Bear with me and if you can give me any help with the procedure to send pictures I would appreciate it. I should add that I am dealing with Kubota Canada and these prices are Canadian currency as of June 2015

Thanks again for the reply, that is the kit that the dealer quoted me but are now saying it will not fit with the backhoe. Only thing I could figure is that it would possibly be in the way while using the backhoe?

Here's the only info I could find in the Kubota catalog (this is from late 2014, so things may have changed):

I don't know where your dealer is getting his information from, but as I said previously it works just fine on my b2650 with the b77 back hoe. It doesn't interfere with the tractor operation or the backhoe operation in any way. Also its positioning is quite convenient for using the rear remotes. I'm going to try to figure out how to attach pictures so you can see for yourself how well it works. Can anybody on the forum give me direction as to how to attach a picture to a post?

Thanks, I have the manual for that kit, I can't see why it wouldn't work. Just going by what the dealer told me. The kit for the cab version uses the same valves as the kit for the b2630/b3030, which makes me wonder if I could just use that kit, which may only require some clearancing for the levers around the seat brace. I think if there's going to be a valve bolted onto the rops like the b2650 kit is, I could make my own setup cheaper and with 3-5 valves rather than two. There's already power beyond for the backhoe, and could just put a t fitting for the return like the kit from kubota.
