Picked up a RTA1258 tiller earlier this week, and love it. Plenty rugged for what I do. Tilled up the 50x100 garden in no time, and did a great job breaking new ground. Time to give dad's 30 year old JD 30" tiller a break :D

I'll get some pics up later when I get them onto photobucket.

Sounds great. Would love to see some pics. I'm currently looking for a 48" tiller for my BX2660.

I just put a 6ft. 2 gang disc harrow on my B2650 and did my existing garden with it . I was very happy that the 2650 pulled it with no problem . I have been thinking of getting a tiller but the disc does a good job for this old guy . If I were a little younger I would get a tiller , as I use to have one a few years back on my Kubota L235,they do a great job .

I was curious about a disc setup but figured the tractor to be too light for the task. Good to know it will do it! How deep do you figure you get with it?

Pappy, I have the LP RTR1250 with my BX2370 and it is great for that tractor. Good and heavy, digs right in and is very stable. Has the slip clutch in case you pick up a rock and you don't have to fool with sheer pins. DO NOT get the RTR0550. My brother has it with his BX25D and it's tines are 2" shorter and he goes through sheer pins like crazy in soil that has been worked regularly by me in the past with my LP1258 from my previous L3800 without any problems. Like most things, you get what you pay for. I know other brands are good also, but my first hand experience is all LP related.

I pulled a spring tooth cultivator through the ground first and then went over it with the harrow . I am guessing it was a good 6 inches deep when finished . I was amazed how well this tractor pulls those items with no problem at all. I could have gone over it a couple of times with just the harrow and got the same results . The cultivator left lots of clumps so figured I would give the harrow a try , glad I did . I use too use the harrow behind the M5700 but it is so heavy it compacts the soil so much .

looks good!

Is it just me or is that bucket big for the tractor?

Standard bucket for the 2650 is 54", but you can also get a 60" light materials bucket. I suspect that's what's on there.

60" bucket works great. It's on the edge of possibly lifting too much..... With loaded tires and 3pt ballast it can still be a little light in the rear with a heavy load up front. The loader is very powerful for the size of the tractor and a 54" bucket might alleviate some of the stress and potential hazard, but with a heavy load I'm always going really slow. I do like it for the large increase in volume of stuff it can carry such as snow, hand tools (without anything hanging out of the bucket), water, brush, construction scraps, etc. I had originally asked about a 54" bucket when I bought the machine but the salesman said everyone opted for the 60 and there weren't any complaints. Now I'm glad I went with it. I'm sure it would seem like a much more powerful machine when digging into the dirt pile with the smaller bucket, but it works fine for me. I'm in no hurry :)
