Looking at getting this unit with 72" mower, one dealer tells me he would not recommend a 72" MM on the 2630, the other does not see an issue and Kubota sells it as this setup, Does anyone have experience/input on this? Also historically has Kubota ever offer 0%/60 like New Holland does?

I run the 72" on my B3030 & have power to spare.

if you let the grass get real long, or have lots of steep hills, the 60" is a better choice.

Also - the 60" will scalp less due to its smaller size & location of the rear guage wheels (in the middle).

I agree w/Haz, and I would not run a 72" MMM on a B2630. I wouldn't run it on either Bxx30 if you have uneven terrain or expect to be mowing dense/wet grass alot. Soon as you have to slow down for anything, you've lost all advantage of the bigger deck. Think it over, maybe save yourself $500+

Kubota has never offered the 0% for 60 months and it is basically new to the CNH line. I'd run it as long as your yard is baiscally flat as they have used the 72 inch deck on the same chassis tractor for years with the B-2150 only having a 24 horsepower engine. With the extra foot of cut over the 60" you don't have to drive as fast to equal the same amount cut.

Spoken like a dealer that'd love nothing better than to upsell those bigger decks :)
Funny thing is ... I know two different salesmen at two different dealerships that suggest the 60" in favor of the 72", even though you'd think it'd not be in their best interest to do so. So out of all the things they have to say, there's one thing you definitely know is honest. Another thing to be aware of, no bagger for the the 72" (if that's an interest).

Nothing at all wrong with the 72" in the right application. Here's a pro about it: about 5-6" more trim capacity... then again, let's not kid ourselves that something as big as a B3030 with either deck puts a ZTR, pushmower, or weedeater to shame at trimming.

I have a JD 60" and a Kubota 72" mower. Both cut great. But the Kubota 72" mower does a much better job. Our lawn is reclaimed field. Not smooth by a long shot. Use the JD more than the Kubota these days. Because the Kubota always seems to be have some other attachment on it when its time to cut lawn.
Buy one mower. Get the 72" and forget about the scalping naysayers.

I've sold the 72" on the B2630 a few times without complaints. It has been to people who simply mow their own lawn and not 6" field grass. A BX2350 runs a 60" with absolutly no problem using 23hp. a 26 Hp higher displacment engine should be just fine on a 72".

Well there you have it... not surprisingly most folks are going to be biased toward whatever they own (myself included). Truth is, you don't get to "try before you buy" and unless you have lots of disposable income, you won't be buying both to do a true side-by-side comparison.

Same as my lawn & pasture. I have to wonder then, how much better a Kubota 60" would cut your property than that JD. There is one undeniable truth in all of this: a narrower deck will always follow ground contours better than a wider deck (it's just physics).

I'd have to agree with Neil. I ran a Case DX24E - a subcompact the size of the BX's, with 24 hp (1 more than the previous BX's) and a 60" mid mount mower, with no problems. My neighbor runs his BX22 with a 60" MMM with no problems. We live at a mile above sea level, which sucks up between 20-25% of the engine's power as compared to those engines operating at sea level.

A 72" MMM on a 26hp machine might possibly be a bit of a stretch up at our elevation, but at sea level, I don't think the 2630 should have any trouble with the 72" on a lawn.
