Has anyone with a B2630 or B3030 ever pulled the water drain on the transmission like it mentions in the owners manual? I did today just for the heck of it and nothing at all came out. Just wondering if anyone has actually gotten anything to come out of theirs?

I took mine out a year ago-nothing in there. It seems like there was a plug on either side, and it was kind of hard to put back in.

My B3030 is only a month or so old and I thought I had read the manual. Had to go back and take another look. Suppose you are talking about draining the clutch housing as discussed on page 62. If this is the question, no I have not as it says using tractor in rain, snow or washing. So far I have not done any of the above. My tractor arrived the day after our only measurable snow and it has been way too cold to wash. Would think these guys with big blowers, deep snow would qualifiy to answer this and would be interested. Thanks for the posting as I will try to watch this on my tractor.

Yes, it was hard to put back in! I thought it was just me. So you saw the plug on the other side too? I was thinking I'd pull that one as it is a little lower, but it also looks like it may not be a plug so I left it alone. Looks like it is on the side of the bearing housing for the driveshaft, so I thought it may help hold that bearing in place. I'm not too worried about water in the clutch housing - just a little curious.

I have a couple of old Farmall tractors, and with them, it's actually possible to drain a gallon of water out of the rear end if it has sat for a while! Most people think this is due to condensation inside the castings, but there are also a couple other paths for water to make its way inside - around bolt heads, etc... A little hard work heats things up and burns off the water if there isn't too much, but if it has sat for a year or so with light use, you just drain it off.

I thought it was another plug-not sure what else would be there.I have the 63" snowblower and removed the plug after considerable snow removal. I'm not expecting to have a problem since I found nothing the first time.

I removed the plug last spring after using the tractor in deep snow during the winter. Not a single drop of water in there.

This was taken from under the tractor, from the rear, looking forward. The drain plug is on the left side as sitting in the seat. There is a hole in the frame so that you can put a socket on it.

Hope this helps, David

Negative, mtrain. You've got the drain correctly identified in your picture, but sitting in the seat looking forward, the drain is on the right hand side of the tractor.
