Just finished my B2620 first major maintenance...all in all, not bad....I was a bit disappointed when I called my dealer and asked them what they would charge me out-the-door, and they gave me the big run-around about not being able to give me a firm price...c'mon guys...we know exactly what needs to be done, and you know what the parts and fluids go for....not like I'm asking you to troubleshoot an "unknown"....This was the first time they've disappointed me....I got all the filters and fluids for just under $200...all kubota branded, and super-duper grade...I figured if thats what came in it, that is what I should stick with.....

One item of note, especially with regard to the oil filter, The statement "hand tighten plus one half turn" is a load of crap...I'm always very careful to follow the manual specs, for this type of information, but when I started her up, I had a MESS....2 more full turns were required before she was tight enough to stop leaking...Filter had a film of clean oil on the gasket, and no obstructions...Anyone else experience this?

The 1/4 to 1/2 turn has always worked for me with my Kubotas.

$200 for fluid and filters????,,,,what did you do drain All the UDT?,,the manual says engine oil and filter, and the hydro filter only,,,not the suction filter or the UDT,,,that's at 200 hrs

I did mine,,engine oil, oil filter, (I did both hydro filters) total was $80

Also are you sure you got the gasket off the engine from the filter?,,,,mine stuck there and it's hard to notice because it sets in a groove, I did the hand tight plus 1/4 turn, and all is well

Kubota recommends hydro and engine oils plus all filters changed after the first fifty hours. For all the oils and filters I paid $162.50 last time. The five gallons of Super UDT was $99.50.

One half turn after gasket contact is all I have ever done on any machine. Never had a leak.
Never needed a filter wrench to get filter off either.

CRAP!!!!!

All of you who suspected the gasket came off the filter were absolutely RIGHT! I had not disposed of the old factory oil filter yet, and sure enough, no gasket on it, or anywhere near it....

Thanks gents, as mad as I am at myself for pulling a stunt like that, I'm thankful to have a place to post issues a problems....Thanks....

On the new b2x20 machines factory recommendations are hydro oil at 200 hrs,,,,,not 50,,,,,,,,mizzimy,,,mine did the same thing, and it was hard to see the gasket there, it looked like a part of the block,,,I almost did the same thing

I believe my B2320 called for a hyd fluid change at 400hrs...don't have the book in front of me so I could be wrong. They called for just one of the hyd filters to be changed at 50 hrs. When I did mine, I went ahead and changed both filters and 3 gallons (says it holds 4, only 3 came out) of SUDT2 along with the engine oil/filter and some 80/90 for the front axle. The hyd fluid that came out was pretty cruddy looking for only 50 hrs. Glad I changed it. Only added about $75 (3 gals SUDT2 and filter) to the price of the 50 hr service.

I did mine not that long ago, and I didn't change the hydro fluid. I thought I needed to, but after much research I found that it isn't called for. The manual doesn't say to drop it until the 200 hour service. Thought it was strange, but did the filters without dropping the fluid. Still had to top it up with SUDT, but even the gallon of SUDT didn't jack up the materials cost that much. I did notice a hot oil smell every time the tractor warmed up for a couple of weeks after the work, but didn't notice any leaks. It was less than $70 total. Dealer quoted me around $500, IIRC. Since it seems to take them a bit to get to stuff, I really didn't feel like leaving my tractor there for a week while they got around to it. They are always busy so I know they are not just slacking. I am not sure what the deal is around here. Every shop in the area has quite a wait time to get to service work. The service bays are always full, and there is always a backlog of work waiting outside. Is that uncommon?
