B2650
Dealer said i can get one with a loader for $17,000 new and if i get another implement i can get 1,000 off.

I asked for the B2650 but for some reason he ignored my asking and gave me the price of the 2601.

$17K seem about right for the B2601 plus loader....seems like a waste of money not to get another implement!

But if you want/need a B2650, get one!

I have been comparing these two models as well. I have quotes from a local dealer as well as a quote from Barlows in KY. Locally, the 2601 tractor and loader w/SSQA was $16,300.00 plus $699.00 for a set of 42" Landpride forks as my extra implement. The 2650 is $1100.00 more. I have to add sales tax to these so that's $1100.00 more. From Barlows, the 2601 package was $16,400.00 and the 2650 was $17,550.00. No sales tax but I have to add delivery to that which is $750.00 Max but I can split that if they have more deliveries near me.

I was set to get a 2601 but I since I'm only about $1100.00 more I am going to get a 2650. That model is physically bigger and the loader is better.

Good luck
John

I agree with that. Unless you have some size limitations, the B2650 is more tractor for just a bit more money. Though that thought process can be a slippery slope..next thing you know you'll have a M in the garage!

I guess the only advantage of the 2601 would be that it feels a lot more frisky/nimble and that would be a benefit for stuff like mowing. But it will also be traction limited since it's lighter for the same HP. So it's a trade. I just remember going from a small 29HP B2920 to a large 32HP L3200, my first reaction is that wow, this bigger tractor is a lumbering dog in comparison. It's not until you start doing ground engaging work that you realize the bigger tractor makes more use of the HP. Still, I'd rather have the smaller lighter tractor for some chores. The work you plan to do with the machine will probably suggest what's best.

I have a 2650 and have no problem with the maneuverability for mowing, do need to get out and trim a lot of low branches, get whacked in the head alot more then with the riding mower

What size mmm do you use? Dealer told me the 2650 is to small in hp for a 72" mmm in thick grass.

I don't have direct experience, but I've seen that commented before. The B2650 will do ok with the 72" mower in normal conditions, and it will handle thick heavy grass, but at the cost of ground speed. Hard to determine if the extra width will make up for the lost ground speed when mowing.

I have the 72mmm, my speed has been limited to the bumpiness of the ground, before I got the kubota I was using a husqvarna 2654, 26hp 54 inch deck riding mower and i had some spots that I could barely go slow enough to not bog it down. Haven't had to worry about that since the kubota. Used to take between 3-5 hours to mow my place depending on how long the grass was, now it takes less time and I mow my dad's 1.25 acre too. I mow every 1-2 weeks, so it never gets real long. Wish I had more experience with other machines to be able to give a more informed opinion, but I am happy with the 2650. Works well for what I need.
