I'm ready to go to my dealer and pick up my goods to do the first service on my machine.
Looking at the manual..." Four Gallons " for the Transmission. Really?
Is this a misprint? I'm accustomed to working with Quarts.
Man, I'm gonna have to use a 5 Gallon Bucket and have to lift her way up off the ground.
I know, I know,, you don't have to change the fluid until you reach 400 hrs.
Only the filter at 50.
If I'm crawling under her, I may as well pull another plug and change out all fluids.
Is my manual Correct... Four Gallons?

I haven't had to change the transmission oil in my 2320 yet (I'm at 165 hours), but the manual calls for 4 gallons. Operating off memory, I think my TN 55 takes 11 gallons.

The manual is correct....wait till you price out the cost of all that fluid; you may start to think 400 hours sounds pretty good!!

The standard L's use 7.5 gallons... biggest waste of money was when I drained the liquid gold out at 50 hours. Save your money... If you really want to protect the tractor, change it at 200 hours instead.

When refilling, start with 3.25 gallons, then run. stop, and recheck level. My experience is that you will be using less than what's in the manual.

If you do change it make sure to get the plugs on both sides of the axle housing, they are the lowest point and any moisture tends to collect there.

I agree with Teg, I did my L between 160- 200 (don't have my book with me) changed all filters at 50 and all fluids and filters again at 160-200. I did not want to go to 400.

Sounds good. I'll wait until I reach halfway or better and change out the fluid around 200+.

Again at 400 and 800.

50 seems way too soon.

The filter works and removes the metal shavings...

Look up "shop vac" method for replacing the filter. You put the vac into the "fill" hole and when you remove the filter... you lose no oil.
