Tires B2410 Turf Tires - What brand do you have?

I've had minor issues with my front turf tires for a while now. Recently the minor issue is that just about every time I go to use the tractor either one or both front tires is very low. I've checked the tires and the side walls have small bulges in them. Almost like weak points allowing the air to push out. In any event, I'm getting "tired" of putting air in them all the time.

These were Carlisle Turf Master tires (23x8.5 - 12 NHS). I have not been impressed with them (although it could have been the installation on the rim). I'm curious to see what other B2410 owners have and whether you're happy with the brand. I'm going to buy a new pair in the spring I think.

Just a thought, but you might put some Slime or something similar in them and see if that stops the slow leaking problem...

I thought about the slime option. Problem is that I'm 95% certain the primary issue was that the seal was poor around the rim. The resulting secondary issue is that the tire actually appears to be damaged. I'm taking the blame on that one because we had a couple of weeks last winter where I had to clear snow so we could get in and out and I couldn't get the compressor up and running. I ended up running the tractor with not a "flat" tire, but certainly too low. I think in the cold it actually wrecked the tire.

I kind of figured that if tires were $40-50/side, that might make more sense in the long run?

Kevin, Here is a post that covers the Carlisle tires new turf tires I just got new Titans and they are like night and day. Well worth the money.

Thanks for the link. Exactly the kind of info I was looking for. If the Titans are that much stronger that would be well worth it. I've got to say I'm a little disappointed that Kubota put such poor tires on the front.

I think the thread you had listed Ron's or your rear tires as Firestone and mine are Goodyear....with the poor Carlisle on the front. I don't get it!!!

Kevin, I think it all comes down to $$$. The Carlisle tires have to be the cheapest things going. They went bald in less than 400 hrs. on turf! The new Titan are not only 6 ply, but have twice the amount of tread depth. I get great traction in both mud and snow now. I priced the matching Firestones for the front, but they were about $75 each for a 4 ply tire. I just wish I had the Titans for the back, they have a great, deep tread to them. I have found the tires that I got cheaper on the web, but with shipping it was almost the same $$. But the JD dealer I got them from is only a few miles away, and they are a good bunch over there.

Hi all,

Finally a completion to this issue for me. I just put on my new front tires /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif I ended up getting the Firestone turf tires. Had a really hard time finding the Titans around here. I'm pleased with the look of the tire and the tread.

I had tubes put in to try to avoid the bead breaking issue I had with the Carlyle tires. Sure will be nice to be able to go out tractoring without having to worry about the tire pressure in the front!!

And the best part....to remove the tires and put them back on I <font color="red"> needed </font> to pick up an impact wrench. Settled on the IR 2200G. It is a composite wrench so it is fairly light. Sure did a nice job!
