Hi all,
Thanks for you responses on this over the last week or so. I have two more questions if anyone has time.
The consensus in the other thread seems to be that the rear wheels (unless you have a special situation like narrow orchard rows, storage space and so on….) should be set as wide as possible for safety reasons. No one has mentioned any reason not to have them set wide, even with a MMM. As one pointed out the Kubota MMM manual specifies that the wheels be set to their widest position. All this makes sense…but…
I was looking at mine yesterday and it appears that if I move the rear wheels outward they will extend wider than the width of the MMM.
1-Will this make for a less attractive cut as the rear wheels (filled) pack down the grass that will not be mowed until the next cutting pass?
2- Do all of you go back and trim with a smaller mower to get closer to fences, buildings, etc…? The rear wheels being wider than the cut will make me cut a good bit further from the borders.
Thanks again for any input!
