I use 4wd on my B21 on a regular basis, but I haven't been tractoring much since the remodel on the house started. I recently noticed that after taking the tractor out of 4wd, (and driving it for 20-50 feet) the front end makes a bit of a clunking sound, like if the front end disengaged under load, even though it is no longer engaged.
Tractor has about 600 hours - I am the original owner - and has been serviced according to the shop manual (purchased on Ebay for $90). Swapped front end fluid after about the 3rd incidence and found the oil to have a bit of metal in it. Question is, what is the likely problem and is the resulting repair something that a non-mechanic can tackle?
Thanks,
