I was wondering if anyone had any first hand experience with a rottary cutter on a B20. It has 20hp with 13.5 at the PTO.
From all the reading I have done here it would seem that my best option would be a 48" model. From what I have seen, 48" rotary cutters seem to all be light duty w/ a shear bolt. I was hoping to get a cutter w/ a slip clutch and at least "standard" duty. Possibly even heavy duty. I will mostly be cutting grass and light brush but am also a firm believer in getting what you pay for so I would like to buy a "good" one.
Are there any companies that offer cutters like this?

I use a 4’ King Kutter rotary mower on my b21 and have been happy with it. As you know the B20/B21 are a bit weak on PTO horsepower so I don’t think you would be happy with a mower any larger. The general rule of thumb is 5 PTO horse power per foot of mower. That makes our tractors less than ideal for some one who has heavy mowing needs. On the plus side it makes it hard to tear up even light duty cutters, which normally come with a 40 hp rated gear box. You can add a slip clutch to any PTO driven implement if you want one. Personally I have never broken a shear bolt even while cutting pines and privet taller than the tractor canopy.

Thanks Mark. I was unaware of the 5hp per foot of mower. Looks like my search has been narowed to 4ft mowers.
