B series air filter price

Just curious what others are paying for (6C060-99410) filters at the dealers. Today i paid $40.73 tax included. They wanted another $40 for the secondary filter. I have been changing my air filters annually regardless of hours as long as its not over the recommended service hrs. I buy them from my dealer because i like to patronize his business so he will take care of me when i need him. I buy my oil from him too but things are getting tight. I'm thinking about buying filters on line from tractor smart and Rotella oil from Walmart.

I buy my parts & supplies from Messick's (which just happens to be my dealer). My local dealers are noticeably higher on everything (their loss). I think these are about as good as dealer prices you'll see. If nothing else you can use them as a benchmark.

Online is 38.00 for the B series and 19.00 for my L2800 and several other L series tractors. It must be the way the filter is built or who builds it.

$27 at your friendly Kubota dealer.

Do be careful about Walmart oil. I was just at a presentation on fluids and the guy speaking had a few bottles of oil that he bought at walmart. No joke, the stuff says on the back that its formulated for cars built in 1910. It had no additives. It was Costal brand oil I think.

You might read the owner's manual carefully. On my B7510 it says to wash the filter in detergent, rinse, and air dry. I can do that 6 times (so the book says) before I have to replace it.

When I told the parts guy about that he didn't believe me until I showed it to him in the book.

I have read that too but choose to buy a new filter when needed. At the cost of engines I wish to be sure mine is protected and the cost of Kubota filters is pretty small when considering the grand price of tractor owning and operating.

This is absolutly correct, but you need to have some sense about it too. If you can visualy see any tears or spots of light when looking down the filter... replace it. If you have a duel element filter you can keep washing the outside filter but if you see dirt showing up on the inside safty filter replace them both. As has been said, you have $30-50 of filters protecting a $3500+ engine so its best to error on the concervitive side.

The best prices I've found for Kubota filters is mower-parts-direct on eBay. They only appear to sell filter kits as opposed to single filters, so if you just need a single filter they might not be the best place to go. Their filter kit prices seem to be excellent. I couldn't come close to their prices piecing together the parts in their BX kit anywhere else I looked.
