Only ran a few branches through it so far, but wow!

Anyone with a BXM32 run into this though:

My neighbor has a new BX2370 and we tried with and without the quick hitch on, but his won't lower this BXM32 right to the ground. Only the back corner touches.
So I made feet for it and bolted them onto the bottom of the chipper.

My B will set it right down.

For what it's worth, my Patu chipper won't touch the ground either when the pto lever is fully down. Best set up is to bolt a couple of 4x4 timbers to the feet. I simply carry half a skid and place it under the chipper when working it. When you're running the chipper wear safety gear and don't wear long sleeves.

That's what I ended up doing. Made some feet with some scrap lumber I had so it works with both tractors. There's already two holes in the bottom of the BXM so I just drilled two more, then countersunk some holes in the timbers so the bolt heads are concealed and the holes are big enough to fit the socket into.

Pic 009 shows what comes out of the chipper and shredder if it is wet material.
Pic 010 is dry and comes out finer.

Going to try leaves after.

Those chips look great. I'm wondering how it did with leaves?

I am vacillating between the BXM32 vs. the new 5" chipper w/o the shredder for my B2620. At the moment, I'm thinking the chipper/shredder will be more useful long term. What factors made you choose the BXM32? Now that you've had it a while, are there any things that have surprised you about it, either positively or negatively? Thanks.

It turns leaves into dust. Just very fine particles blown out onto the ground. I ran a mix of wet and dry leaves.

Went that size versus a bigger model knowing it would work effectively with both my B and my neighbours BX 2370.

I love the performance.

Dislikes: doesn't work well with our quick hitches. No matter what holes we pin the top hook in, it either only rests on the bottom pins, or the top......we chose the bottom, at least then it is supported by two points. Hooking up without the quick hitch requires some wrestling.

As you can see I had to put feet on it. Without, my B would barely put it down to the ground, the BX, not even close. With and without the quick hitch.

Still quite happy with it though.
