Attachments

Folks,

I was wondering were one would start looking for used 3-point attachments for my CK35.I'd like to find a 6-8 foot cultivator, and a plow. I can't justify buying new for the little I will be using this stuff.

May be I should start finding the local tractor shops to see what they have in the yard.
A bucket toothbar would be nice to have too.

Craigslist, ebay, auctions (do a web search for local farm equipment ones) local tractor dealerships are great places. Ask, drive and look. Another you may have, see if your State's Dept of Agriculture has listing either on the web on paper. I will tell you to be very careful at live auctions or internet ones also for if not careful you will pay more than worth. Watch for scams on ebay and craigslist. Local ad papers, classifieds. You can also place wanted ads in some of these (craigslist also).

You can check your local dealers but even for used there's usually tax at the very least. If you have local buy and sell mags in your area for tractors/heavy equiment, usually found in most convience stores - you can find good buys there. Or just ask around - that's what I do - usually old timers know everything in the area that's for sale - maybe they have too much time on their hands.

Also look for old farms and the like that have been converted into tractor salvage yards. A lot of old timers supplement their retirement income and get to stay active with "farming" by selling used equipment. Ask the other farmers in your area. They'll know.

On your name, try creating a new user, just like you did when you first joined. You'll have to use a different password, I think.

How wide of a caltavator can I pull with a CK35? I found there's a wide range of widths out there may way to wide for my tractor. It seems the 12 foot are a popular size, but I think these would be big too.

I have found that I just kind of "fall over" attachment opportunities. (Not that I have a lot so far though). I am generally to cheap to buy new and I've gotten good stuff used at auction sales, tractor dealerships and from neighbours or just by driving by the end of a farm lane. For auctions, you have to be careful to know your stuff and local prices lest you get caught up on the action, and you can waste an entire day and end up not buying anything.
