Before trying to think out my own attachment system, has anyone attached a front de-thatcher to their SCT? I like seeing everyone's designs, copy what I like, and then use the info in designing my attachments for the BX. It is a tow-behind right now 45", but I think I want to make it more useful on the front, and be able to de-thatch, mow and bag, in one action, not two. Thanks.

Gary,

First you need to get the new Kubota FEL QH unit. I am in the process of designing a universal unit to attach to that QH, which I now have, and then have many ways to attach other stuff, like forks to that. I know I will incorporate a 3 PT QH into that assembly somehow. I am also looking for ideas from others so will be watching your post response. I can also envision back blade, landscape rake, middle buster, and other things I can fab.

I've thought about this a bunch too. Just keep in mind your hitch arms will be in compression not tension making them easier to bend. If I did a thatcher I would be starting from scratch. Anyone ever located a reasonable source for springs in bulk?

I've seen the hay rake heavy tines/spings. I would think a smaller, springier one would work better for a proper lawn. I can so visualize the heavy ones making a gouge and tearing the sod. I'm kind of on the fence but leaning more toward designing/building a power rake attachment off the front end. I've considered and thought of the obstacles but not put anything on paper...er...CAD yet. East, just off Highcross.
