OK, we got about 14" of snow in the last 24 hours and I got to move lots of it with an ASV SR-70. The machine worked flawlessly. It was lots of powder, not wet and heavy but there was a nice slick sheet of ice below. There was no slippage that I felt and the ASV did a great job.

Anyone here use an ASV for winter snow removal. Any insight that you have would be great as we are new to them and this is my first real opportunity to use one in these conditions.

Thanks,
Maka

This has absolutly nothing to do with snow, just wanted to know if you have heard anything about flow rate on ASV quick connect blocks?? I have an RC-100 and wouldn't trade it for the world. Not much snow down here but it sounds fun. By watching the video ASV sent out who could compete with them. Mulching on. Robbie

No, not really. I plan on outfitting an RC-100 with a mulcher, in fact I want the forestry package. Do you have pictures?

Thanks,
Maka

They came out with the forestry packages about 2 months after I bought mine, to bad. I did however add the quick connect guard while it was in the shop from the wreck {another story].What mulcher are you going to use, the one from ASV? You can see my tractor on our web site Trinity Mulching - Atlanta Georgia Mulching Company .I'd be honored if you have a look. Later Robbie

Nice website Robbie. ASV uses the Fecon and it seems a bit better priced than the Loftness. I saw the Loftness at the Sunbelt Ag Expo in Moultrie and liked it.

How is your business doing? Are you getting lots of work? That is one sweet machine. I have heard a few people people question weather the hyd. will over heat with the head on it but every owner I have spoken to says no and all the dealers I have spoken to say no problems. What are you experiencing?

I sent you a pm.

No real issues with overheating but in the hottest part of the days with everything at optimum temps the A/C gives up a bit. I have since painted the top of my tractor yellow to cut back on sun heating the cab and it seems to be helping. I'm going to have my tech check it at next servicing. To be honest if my dealer had a complete package with the fecon ASV sells I probably would have bought it. I have since learned a lot about all the different heads since I've begun my business. Plus it didn't hurt they gave me a super deal on my timberax. In the near future I plan a demo a carbide on my machine to see if I like it better, I would like to keep both but $$ will dictate that. My dealer said he watched a fecon run and said it did a pretty good job but it beat the tree alittle bit and was a rough cut. Just depends on your personal preference. I've demoed a gyro trac I tell you later. Long story.

As far as work goes I was busy up till November, but I dropped the ball and hadn't advertised yet so were are ramping that up quickly. Tis the season.

You came all the way to Georgia for the sunbelt expo? Was it worth the travel?

Talk soon, Robbie

Thanks Robbie. I spoke to a guy in Libby Montana who has the RC100 with fecon head and loves it. He just changed out the teeth for the first time. He has 1000 hours and said the tracks are still in excellent condition. Heat up here is not to big a deal but tonight we are to have a low of about -12 not factoring windchill so the cabs w/heat are a must.

Yes, I came all the way to Moultrie and it was hot as heck. The show was awesome and that is where I drove a Gyro-Trac. I got a chance to chew up some brush and the skid steer head was different from all the others. Gyro-trac was interested in us carrying their line. if you don't mind would you send me a pm with your thoughts and experience with them .

Thanks Much,
Maka

I was at the show in Moultrie, and it was practically sweater weather! Come on down a little early next year, say about the middle of July. You can help us get a load of watermelons out. We'll put you stacking in the front of the trailer where it is about 110* and 80% humidity. Then I'll visit Kalispell in January to learn about cold and snow.:)

I like Georgia. My wife is from Albany. This was my first trip there that I remember and it was wet the first day and hot and humid the next. I do plan on being in Moultrie next year so maybe I'll see you there. Picking watermellons in that heat is another story.

If and when you get out this way I would be happy to show you around. Here are some pictures taken in the last 1/2 hour. We have plowed so it is not real deep.
