I've got a ASV RC-85 that is giving me a PITA fit trying to keep running.

It won't crank under its own power. Put a jump box on and it will fire right off. Might run 2hrs with no problems might run all day. Will randomly kill track function until you put jumper cables/jump box back on the machine and let charge.

First thinking loose alternator. Nope that's not it.
Second Alternator is bad and not Charging. Nope that's not it.
Third Bad battery. Nope
Starter. Nope
Fuses. Nope

Machine only has 500hrs on it.

Never can work it because it won't stay running. Starting to pull my hair out. It really sucks when you have to every hour on the hour pull up to your truck and charge the machine so you can keep running.

Any suggestions where I might look?

Sure sounds like battery voltage is dropping during operation. Would account for track function due to relays not holding circuit closed. ASV has lots of relays and circuits that require full voltage to operate properly. I cant remember what instrument/gage it has to monitor charging circuit. What is battery voltage reading when unit shuts down? During operation can you monitor batterry voltage? Some earlier machines had a history of bad relays that were replaced under factory service bulletin but that was 7-8-yrs ago (recollection). Try to monitor battery voltage while running and see if voltage is dropping or alternator failing when gets hot. Last thing is there was another service bulletin referring to cleaning of grounding points and connections in various places on machine that caused erratic electric issues. Cant remember what series of machines since it has been many years working at the dealership. Good luck

I have an rc100 that had battery problems that were tough to figure out. It turned out that there was a bracket on the underside of the cab that was making contact with battery corrosion and running the battery down. It was hard to diagnose because you tip the cab up to get to the battery and so you could actually see the problem. I ended up coating the battery connections heavily with that rubber goo battery product - kind of like tool dip. Worth a look to make sure that isn't the problem

Its def not the battery. You can pull the battery and put a brand new one on and it still won't crank.

I would check ALL wiring harness connectors and make sure that your operator presence and/or seat belt circuits are all good.

Bad ignition switch?
It's a diesel! No points, no coil, no distributor, and no spark plugs = No ignition switch. You mean KEY SWITCH
