My freshly planted oats patch was destroyed by armyworms in the last few days. I had some out patient surgery and wasn't able to get out to do anything about it. I plan to spray Sevin on any remaining plants, but my question is will the oats come back without replanting? My understanding is the worms just eat the green portion of the plant down to the ground and that it will come back from the roots? Problem with that is I dug up some of the roots and they look dead, but in other areas there is some visible green stubble above ground. Anyone with any experience on it? Others telling me I have to replant.

Thx
