My Kubota L3130 is not even delivered and I am adding attachments. Lookings for suggestions and input on brands, price etc of discs for a horse arena that can be handled by the L3130. I may also disc up some food plots but the real use is the arena.

Thanks in advance

My favorite is the Kiser. They will custom build one for exactly what you need. Mr. Kiser will also give you all the info. you need for a top notch arena as well. My next favorite one if you're on a budget is the Parma Arena Groomer.

We use a Furest tine harrow (I'm not sure I spelled the name correctly). It's essentially a drag mat with teeth that you pull behind your tractor or quad for that matter. I've had mine at least 10 years, it's always outside and it never shows any wear and that says a lot as we have sandy loam soil here that eats anything that engages the ground. I use it for grooming our outside arena (we raise horses also), dragging pastures to break up manure piles (does and excellent job) and I also use it to smooth the gravel drive in front of the barn. I recommend the tine harrow, no moving parts and simple as any implement could ever hope to be.

Thanks Daryl and Richard.

I had a tine harrow(can't recall the spelling off hand either) that "went away" in a divorce. I agree they are great for top smoothing, breaking up pastures etc. Work forever and never break.

I will get another of those but I do also need a disc. I will look intot the ones suggested by Richard. My soil here in Mich as opposed to by old palce in Colorado is pure clay and needs to be broken up deeper before I drag it.

Will keep you posted.

Thanks

Mark

Yea a tine harrow is about worthless until the ground is worked up in your case Mark. The other arena groomers I told you about will do this job. Call Mr. Kiser. For free he will give you all the advice you want about making your arena right for what you want to do with your horses. Then he will custom build you the right groomer to maintain it.

I use a grad harrow for my riding areena. they are fairly cheap.. less than 400$. Some get fancy and use a rotary spider looking harrow... it is great for areenas.. nearly unsurpassed for finish and look.. and price!.. the usually start around 900$.

If you need to disc up other areas though.. you may just use a disc harrow and be carefull in the areena.. and drag a telephone post behind your disc to level the area.
