Wasn't really sure which forum to put this in, but since I plan to apply it an attachment, this seems like the right one. Like the title says, I'm looking for a liquid concentrate (in bulk) to use for tick control on my property. The ticks are out of control this year. Even with Frontline applied to my dogs they are still getting eaten alive this year. Last night I pulled 26 ticks off of my little 23 lb. Boggle. My 75 lb. black lab is fairing much better and only had 6 ticks. Those nasty little blood-suckers sure like the little guy.

So, which acaricide have others used and had good results with?

Posting here to follow this thread. I'm finding the same thing....ticks simply all over the place.

I'll third that. One thing that has helped us is to keep everything mown short. The dogs still manage to run off into the trees and such but for just a quick trip out of the house if we keep them out of the weeds it really helps.

I don't know anything about sprays for ticks but I've got free-ranging hens (7 currently) and they do a bang-up job at eating ticks and bugs in general. They're pretty low-maintenance creatures, but certainly aren't for everyone. Just wanted to mention that in case someone's looking for another method of dealing with them.

Vet told us Frontline changed their formula and it is no longer effective.

Guinea hens are good at tick control, and as an alarm system.

I use Permethrin 10%. I use a 15 gl. 12 volt sprayer mounted on back of an old lawn mower and coat the yard and dog run areas. If you have kennels follow this up with a good dusting of Diatomateous Earth.

Best flea, tick, & mosquito treatment I have found is Revolution. It is pricey and only available with prescription or through a vet, but it REALLY works.

New and improved I'm guessing. Anybody know WHY? they changed their formula?

I've always wish there something like that stuff that I could use on my self. :D

The same thing happened to Biospot. I used Biospot with good results for years and then, recently, it just quit working. My guess is there's some new government regulation that applies to all manufacturers.
