I have a Mahindra 60" finish mower and I'm having a hard time finding parts for it. Someone said that Kodiak was the same mower and I could hunt for Kodiak parts. Is that true? I need advice on buying a belt for it. A Kodiak belt is $54. This seems a little steep. Any suggestions for a cheaper alternative? Can I get one at an auto parts store? Any help is appreciated. I'm a newbie at the tractor stuff. LOL

Sorry I can't help you determine if Kodiak and Mahindra use the same belt. Just be thankful it isn't a Deere. A friend of mine just replaced his mower belt and the price was double your Kodiak belt.
Can you read a part number or have a length on the belt? Or model number of the deck? If so, you may be able to search it online. I believe the Mahindra finish mower is built by Amerequip.

My Mahindra rotary cutter is a re-badged Kodiak.

Find the Kodiak manual for the same mower and see if they list the belt size. Or take an existing belt to a good auto parts store and let them match it. It's unlikely to be specific to the mower or manufacturer.

Thanks for the replies. The Mahindra number for the belt is Worksaver part number 650957 or SOV code 900-241-340. The Kodiak number is KDK061-0168. The model of the finish mower is EM/2 60.

Welcome to the forum, neighbor.

The EM2/60 manual says the belt you mention 650957 is a B77. Available at most any store that sells V belts.

The EM2/60 manual says the belt you mention 650957 is a B77.

A B77 is 5/8" wide, ID is 77", OD is 80"

That converts to these in Kevlar which I find is much better for decks that have backside idler pulleys:

Jason Industrial: MXV5-800
D&D Power Drive: 5L800

Kevlar belts use the 5 for width (5/8") and the 800 for the OD (80"). Either of these should be around $20 at mail order places, or in stores if you can find them.

I went to AutoZone and asked for a B77 belt. It was too long. They checked my belt and it was 70 inches. I don't know why the manual shows the 77 inch for my mower. Anyway, I put it on and it seems to work. I don't know how long it will though because the depth doesn't seem the same as the old one and it doesn't seem as heavy duty. Thanks for all your help. I appreciate all the effort.
