Re: Are \"BIG 3\" brands worth more than \"Minor\" brands?
Bob, what models are you comparing the NH to the Montana. You told me you looked at the 2740 Montana which is our very entry level tractor.
If you compare my LG3040 or 3440hst to the NH I bet the Montana has more standard features, better warranty, beter financing, better price. Now this model would be the comparison I would like to see made.
You see, the Montana has what is called the value compact(what you looked at), the premium compact (the fair comparison) and then the utility open stations and the VIP cab models so an apples to apples would be a good start.
So, lets make sure we have good comparison first. Now, compare the Montana 3040 and that would be a bit more fair. The 3040 pictures can be viewed at the link below.
The 3040 has the rubber mats you want but also has the standard following;
4 cyl. Mitsu engine
3 year warranty
Elec/hyd pto
dual rear remotes
draft control
12F/12R synchro shuttle and synchro trans
Wet multi disc brakes
Folding ROPS
10gal fuel tank
better pump capacity
More 3 point lift capacity
tractor weighs 3418lbs (Now for my customers that is of importance but we don't use our tractors as mowers here so being light is not an advantage, weight is.)
Our loaders have better lift capacity and there is more.
NH is a good tractor and I believe that model is a Shibaura I maybe wrong. Is the blue paint and NH name worth more? That will be up to the customer and his needs but The Montana 3040 will spec out far better than the TC33DA.
Having said this I think the NH, JD, Kubota etc. are good machines just not worth the money for what you get. I don't want to create a fight but apples to apples will tell the whole story and is the fair way to make a comparison.
I think that people here should look at all the machines and not get roped into biased opinions and comparisons. I suggest everyone look at each machine, see what fits their needs and make an informed opinion.
I would rather have a synchro shuttle and rear remotes standard anyday over a rubber mat but hey with the Montana 3040 you get it all without the inflated price.
Here is a 3040
Montana 3040 pictures
For anyone looking go to the Montana website and look at the specs of the 3040 and then go to the NH website and look at the specs of the TC33DA and you will see that spec wise there is no comparison.
Thanks,
Maka
