Nice 182. I aspire to one of those, having just graduated to a 172.
Down south here they have measured distances on the highways with lines and they used to do aerial spoeed patrols.
Not sure they do it anymore since the intro. of speed cameras.
Never could work out how you would get the bill??

John there are marks on the roadway and the pilot clocks the elapsed time through a known distance to get the speed and then radio a patrol car that a red chev was doing 95 mph, etc. Then the patrol car that is ahead down the road stops the vehicle and issues the ticket. My son doesn't do that, he does search and rescue and mostly with a helicopter

I have been wanting to get my license, but the $4000 quoted around here is slightly out of my budget at the moment. Kubota to pay for, new pickup to budget for and buy at some point, garage, in general being a homeowner, the list never ends, but at the end is a pilots license./w3tcompact/icons/grin.gif
Now who gets that reference?

Hey Guys,
I've seen it happen about 50 times. Never happened to me yet, but everytime I see an aircraft over the highway its my first thought. Local police do it around here on Rtes 11 & 15 about 6 times every summer. They setup at the end of the bypass where the expressway ends, and point to the people that they want. Sometimes 10-12 cars, and trucks at once.
