Over the holidays, I purchased 3 solar, security lights. About 20 bucks each, I won't list the brand or where, but WOW, I am impressed. Lights up my trek between the shop and house. Even the small dog set's them off. 2 very bright LED's on each one. And no running wire out to them. They only stay on for about 30 sec's. but enough to get from one to the next.

Just a suggestion, but if you do like them, why not post up who, what and where you got em???

I picked up some stuff at HF today and was looking at some of them, the price wasnt too bad and I was thinking of sticking some on my barn side. not that I would need them much but the spot I need them is on the NORTH side and would be shaded so not sure if they would work too well...

We picked up the one from the Dec monthly flyer that was about $21. It is just laying in the sun room but works as expected. The cord seems to be about 15' so maybe you can position it to get some sun and shine where you want it. Ours is quite bright so on a dark night it should be very bright.

Ok, I got mine from Newegg.com, on one of their daily deal things. "Rosewill PIR Solar Spotlight". What impressed me was that they had 3 replaceable AA NIMH batterys. So if the lights outlast the batts, I can buy some new ones, but the cost of the lights almost pays for the batts.

I purchased two solar lights and installed them in the past 10 days. So far so good. I need to see if they are adjustable in length of time they stay on as it is short. Also need to see how they last in the winter in the north where we are. I bought mine at Harbor Freight and paid $20 on a sale.

I bought one from Tractor Supply Co. $39 and it has the NmH [replaceable batteries]. Never change battery TYPE, only mAh.
(chargers are Nicad OR NmH specific)
This one has 5 'Super-Bright LED's, an 8" x 10" solar panel with a 6 foot plus cord [for mounting out from under a porch roof] and has worked flawlessly for better than a year now. The time the light is on can be adjusted and it casts light enough to walk without tripping, more than 100 feet.

I'll have to look at the $20 one..... maybe.

Our Harbor Freight # 98085 has the small 36 LED light and 4"x6" solar panel with 15' of cord and it was about $21 on super flyer special. It is working inside the house and not mounted yet so I can not speak to its service. I expect it was last as long as some $20 meals I have purchased. :D

At the same time got the 45 watt solar system (less storage batteries) for $149 but it will be a school project in the spring.
