Tractor
Kubota L3830GST, B7500HST, BX2660. Formerly: Case 480F LL, David Brown 880UE
One of these: DA7000SSA
for sale locally for a decent price.

Looks like Multiquip makes industrial generators/light plants. Anyone know the name or have any comments on it?
3600rpms is a negative (compared to a 1800rpm one), but the watercooled Kubota diesel is a big plus.

Thanks

We used a few of these when we were building a plant before we had utility power available.
They were quieter than most tractors in my opinion.
Good units none were auto start or had transfer switch setups.

Good to hear. I think I will go for it, everything I have found in my research looks good.

That is fine. This one if electric start and I will be replacing the main breaker with a double throw one or adding a backfeed breaker with an interlock to the main breaker.
If I get really ambitious, I will convert it to autostart, but not now.

I just looked at the manual, and there is a gearbox, but hard to tell if it is one to one or would speed the generator at 3600, with a slower engine speed.

I went through the generator and engine specs (near the front of the online manual). Looks like both the engine and generator make maximum power at 3600 RPM...sounds like one to one, I'd say...

That is a nice generator!! Good luck with the purchase!

That's quite a bit of Jack for a 7,000 watt unit, used, Kubota powered or not.

3 grand would put you in a new Generac with 2 +times the output plus a vacuum transfer switch, auto start and exercise....and a warranty.

Would it be Diesel powered and water cooled? The second is optional, the first is not.

I had a multiquip 12 kw, it ran at 3600 rpm, it worked great with the isuzu engine, I paid 2900 for it back in 98 (used)
However, I hated the 3600 rpm, it was way to loud for us so we sold it.

Now I have a Yanmar 12KW that runs at 1800 and you can talk next to it while it runs.
