Anyone use X-O Rust Paint

Has anyone used True Value's X-O Rust Farm Implement Paint on their tractors?

Not on my tractor but on several of my implements. Just before winter sets in - I wire brush off the rust from the "cutting edge" of bottom plow, land plane grading scraper, rear blade, FEL bucket etc and put on a heavy coat of black X-O Rust paint. Helps keep rust at bay.

Do you find it holds up OK? I recently used it on a trailer but am wondering of it wll last on my tractor. Better than bare metal I recon.

Well, it sure keeps the cutting edge from rusting until I can use the implement the next time. Its a good, tough paint and reasonably priced. A lot of "how long will it last" depends upon surface preparation. On non-cutting surfaces with proper preparation it should last a good long time - 8 to 10 years, at least. I repainted the cargo racks on one of my ATV's with the stuff around 10-12 years ago and its still looking good - no flaking, crazing etc.

That's good to hear. How do like how it goes on? I have brushed, rolled and sprayed (with gun and rattle can) it and it levels you out nicely.

I use rattle can - easier to get into tough spots & I'm only asking it to last until next time I use the implement. When I did the cargo racks on the ATV - I brushed it on out of a can. Seems to go on the same as any other paint - the brush on stuff out of the can makes a much thicker first coat. If you put the brush on stuff on with reasonable care - it smooths out to a high gloss finish.
