Anyone use this setup?

Today, I bought this fuel pump and a 3'x8' steel tank for $200 from a service station that went out of business. But I'm not sure how much work I'm in for, to put it together. If I can get it going, it was a lot cheaper than a new setup. Any pointers, do's or dont's?

The tank hold approximately 423 gallons. Will it be above ground or buried? Also, any gov regs on storing that much?
The pump should be straight forward. I don't remember which voltage they run on but you must use explosion proof connections. You will also need non-conducting piping for connecting to the tank and very good ground wires on both tank and pump.

It's an above ground tank. No regs on diesel that I know of. My neighbor has a 1000 gal above ground tank and said that there was no inspection required. But very true about he ground wires. What type of non conductive piping is it? It's currently got galvanized pipe on it

If it is galvanized stick a magnet to it to determine if it is steel or other metal. If steel then use steel galvanized. If not steel then contact a contractor supply for the appropriate piping.
For electrical use the gray PVC conduit and NEMA enclosure Type 7 Class 1 Group D.
Add brass valves at the pump and at the tank to isolate each from the other in case of leaks.

I would use black pipe. Galvanized pipe well flake.

I thought I read galvanizing did naughty things to diesel over time.

I read that too, however almost every heating oil tank made in the last 50 years has a galvanized "duplex bushing" on the top. I have also heard copper isn't great to be around diesel, but most heating oil tanks use copper lines when connecting to a furnace. And many old boat diesel tanks were made of copper.
