Anyone use their gasser/diesel unit during the recent storm and power outage?

I was just wondering if any of the engine driven welder generator rigs used the generator portion for emergency power? What unit do you have and what did you maintain this weekend? Thanks in advance for all who participate.

Didn't have to use my Ranger 8 but that is what it sits here for. Other than a little wire feed work in the field once in a blue moon.

I use my Miller Bobcat a few times a year for this. Last april when the tornados hit I had some friend out of power 3 days. I would stop by and run their refrigerator and deepfreeze to keep the stored goods cold. I use mine mostly in the field working on the euipment at work if they break down away from the shop. Like today I didnt need it for lights but I did run a 4 foot shop fan on me while doing an oil change on the D5.

This past May, on my birthday, a storm came thru and I lost power for 5-6 days. I have a Miller Bobcat that I have on a welding trailer. I just moved the trailer close to the house to power the refrigerator, mainly, watch some tv and also keep the well water flowing. I run a line to the pump house and put a pressure gage inside the house to monitor pressure. When the pressure goes low I just plug the water pump in to bring up the pressure.

I have had to do this a few times now and I have also set it up at a friends house when they have lost power. We are serviced by different power companies. Sometime my power goes out and sometimes their power goes out.
