Looking at a new m96s and was wondering if any of you all run one and what are your pros and cons on the unit. There is just not alot of info anywhere on the web regarding this series of kubota's.
Good tractors, reliable, a bit light for heavy tillage. I don't love the swing shift, but thats me. Guys who are used to old TA's and stuff seem to love it.
For what it's worth, my county district supervisor crew has two M108s 2wd units they use for typical county road maintenance here in south Mississippi.

I've noticed a big weight difference in the Kubota's, our CaseIh 5140 weighs around
11,000lbs. but a Kubota of the same basic size and HP weighs almost half that.
What's the deal?
Thanks for the replys. I have found that the 40 series kubota's weigh much less than a comparable Deere. However the M96S and M108S are very comparable to the Deere weight. Comaring the Deere 5095M weight of 8,200#, the M96S weighs in at 8,100#. Both of these weights are unballasted so we are comparing apples to apples. I believe with a fel and ballast either of these tractors will be well over 10,000# possibly even close to your 11k mark.
On Kubota's spec. pdf for M96S it says 7430# that's quite ways from 11,000#. A M108S is listed at 6349# A 5095M is classified as a Utility Tractor and the M95S is classified as a Midsize Ag. Believe I'm not knocking the Kubota, if we ever had to replace the 5140 you can just about bet it would be a Kubota. I think the M110X with 4WD would suit the wife's operation. It's more comparable to the 5140, especially as far as weight. She has something over 50 acres in tillage for small grain hay, small grains and corn for ground feed for a 50 head cattle operation.
i also talked to the kub dealer about all their new tractors being low profiles.an we also talked about the tractors weight.an they told me that they are making the tractors lighter.
