Just discovered the site and am wondering if anyone here can tell me what their experience is with a '94 Kubota M 105 s. I have sixty acres and was considering the M105 for mowing and baling. I could buy a slightly smaller tractor, ie Kubota 8540, but can buy the M105 with loader for a good price. Thanks for any imput on the tractor... look forward to your reply!

I have it's little brother the M95s, it has the same chassis but the engine puts out 95 hp. I have had it a little over a year and I love it! I used it last summer to mow up and down large rolling hills with a batwing mower (Woods HD 315) and it never struggled.

I have the Swing Shift transmission that has 32 forward and 32 reverse speeds. Locking front and rear differentials, Cab with AC, radio, LA1301 self leveling loader, and quick attach bucket. I really like "on the go shifting" and the Hydro Shuttle reverser, great for loader work.

The only feature that mine didn't have that I wanted was: the buddy seat for my son to safely ride with me. Overall I am very pleased with the machine.

I to have its little brother, an M8540. I have had it for 8 months and it is great!
I was raised on ranches and have run all different sizes of equipment, this thing can really put the power to the ground!
I did a lot of fuels reduction work with my mower this summer, it will cut 2' high sage brush at 2 acres per hr. no problem.
This is a dam fine machine.

I used my M9540 and Landpride 5515 this last summer to shred 130 acres of CRP land that could only be cut during July & Aug. So the Johnson grass and weeds were 6 feet tall and high as the cab in places. When I started to bog down in the thick/tall stuff the turbo would kick in and power me through. So if you can afford a few more HP the M105 has (or the dealer is offering a good deal) - go for it! I was debating between the M8540 and M9540 and am glad I went with the higher HP.

Good luck & post a pic of your new machine. Ed

Hope you know what was there befoer the grass got so high. Finding concret blocks in the weeds can really wake a guy up!

I have a 04' M105. Great tractor, plenty of power (mine is 4 wheel drive),
No service issues. I pull a 15' batwing shredder, a 10' aerway aireator (this takes plenty of pulling power) I don't bale hay, but use it all winter to move/feed 2 large round bales at a time. The a/c keeps up with Texas summers, my friend who bleeds John Deere green used it to unload a semi load of round hay and was blown away with it's comfort and ease of steering thru gates. On a 1-10 scale it's a 9.9 and if Kubota could ever get the orange paint on it,s wheels to not fade as much, it would be a perfect 10!

I'm awaiting mine to pull into the yard next week, '08 coming with a loader, bucket and shear grab. Have been searching around for the right machine for 6 months so it is encouraging to see all the positive comments! Ur right about the fading paint work, hopefully she'll do the business!

Kubotas are generally not found on larger farms here but there are a few of this model on 6-800 acre stock farms as hay tractors 3 of which are neighbours of mine and all complain about being built lighter than main brands and repeated front axle break-ups. Ditto on the paint quality but i'm a ford/MF man so i'm used to that :)

For just a few hundred acres look like a good uncomplicated tractor if not worked to death, these guys are doing 500 odd hours a year .
