I am heading up north to my tractor and chores this weekend, and I need to complete my 200 hour service. In the manual it says to remove and clean the hydraulic strainer, and points to a place under the tractor where there does not seem to be a strainer. Can anyone help me locate this? I have done all the service except for this, and since I assume I am going to lose some fluid when I do it, I have not yet topped off the fluid.

I do not have a 3010. But yours may be similar to my 2910. The strainer is behind a fitting that has the suction line coming out of it and running to the hydraulic pump. This fitting is very low on the transmission. When you remove the strainer, any oil in the transmission will drain out. Mine is on the right side when sitting in tractor seat.

Thanks. I started taking the line off that I think you are talking about, and a lot of fluid started coming out, so I put it back on. Is that going to drain all the hydraulic fluid, or just the transmission? Either way I don't think the 2.5 gallon jug I have will be enough. It seems to me they should mention changing the fluid when cleaning the strainer, if that's what I am going to have to do. Thanks for the help, maybe I will stop at the kubota dealer on my way up, and see if I will need another bottle of fluid. It's probably not that much more than a few gallons of gas anyway.

I believe that a 3010 holds about 11 gallons. Drain the transmission first. I checked my manual. It calls for transmission service at 50 and 300 hours. Then HST (if your tractor has HST) and Hydraulic filters should be changed along with SUDT and strainer cleaning. Hope you are sitting down when you get the price on the filters.

My manual says that you should change the filters at 200 hours, and clean the strainer, but does not mention the fluid at all. Thats why I thought that I would be able to clean the strainer without losing all the fluid.
