Anyone Know How to Bypass Neutral Safety Switch on JD 670?

When the key is on I can hear the click from the seat safety switch and PTO switch, but not from the neutral safety switch. Does anyone know how to bypass/defeat it to test?

The switches will be either normally opened or normally closed, you should be able to figure out from there how to test. There are two of these, I belive one for range shift(or maybe pto) and one for gear shift. They won't make any noise, it is a simple push button switch that the linkage contacts.

Not recommended to tell people how to defeat safety systems. Do you want to risk having a liability lawyer knocking on your door?

When you pull the witch, you usually have to run a jumper wire. Nothing fancy usually. Getting to them is the real challenge.

I agree with the idea of not answering a question like this. If you know what you are doing the question is simple enough to figure out. If you can not figure out how to do it , maybe it is best to leave it alone.

I can hear the lawyers knocking on my door if answer this one. If you do not have the technical knowledge to troubleshoot this problem, you should contact your dealer. BTW, as far as I know, neither one of those switches make any noise. They are simple push switches activated by pressure.

The noise is from behind the control panel, I assume from a relay.

The laywer thing is just absurd! Besides after getting to the switches I found it was simple to do.

And if I had the money to pay a huge JD repair bill I wouldn't be here trying unsuccessfully to get help.

The lawyer parts is abslutley true and is why I only gave basic info on how the switch operates. You should be able to take what you have learned here and troubleshoot the problem. If not use the info here and study up, it really isn't rocket science. Do not permanantly disable any of the safety features if in the future youre unit ends up at the dealer or any reputable repair shop they will most likely fix them w/out your permision and charge you to relieve them of any liability.

The lawyer thing is absurd until the lawyer knocks on your door representing a client that started a tractor in gear from a by-passed safety switch after someone you advised to do so gets CRIPPLED. We are living in a lawsuit society.
