anyone have any experience with propane (hot water) pressure washers?

I (currently) only plan to use it a few times a year, and wonder if I would have less issues/ not having to worry about something happening to the diesel/kerosene fuel, or burners possibly clogging from the fuel just sitting. Even if I did try to drain the fuel after each use, I am sure there would be some residual that could clog/restrict something over time. I am likely looking at an elec. motor vs gas for same reason, and I have heard that hot water low pressure/ volume unit is much better/effective than high pressure and high flow with cold water when it comes to oil and grease. All on topic responses will be appreciated. I hope everyone is doing well. Thank you.

I have a client that uses these unit to clean fire trucks and rangeland fire equipment. Much more powerful in cleaning dirty equipment than cold water pressure washers. There units are all 240 volt pumps. Gas burner units. Have no idea as to how much maintenance they require. But they use theirs 9 months a year….several times a week minimum. No idea what happens to them if they sit 6 months.

I worked in a plant and used these. Kerosene with electric motor. The problem was always the steam coil stopping up. Not related to fuel type. Mostly caused from putting to much soap thru it. Good luck

likely cleaning oil grease/oil/crud off old equipment/ attachments. But it would be infrequent (likely only a few times a year, but could be more if it works well, and does not cause me any issues trying to use it.)

I have a Landa hot water pressure washer that has a 120V pump and a diesel powered burner. I bought this unit about 25 years ago, it was used and about 15 years old at that time, so about 40 years old plus or minus. The burner is the same as you would find in an oil furnace in your home. I have had a few problems over the years but none that were related to the injector. I use mine about once a year and sometimes it might sit for 2 years or longer between uses. The hot water is great for removing oil and grease and I can change a valve and the temperature of the water will increase and the pressure will decrease and it works more like a "steam" cleaner.
