I don't know how new these aftermarket Curtis cabs are for the CK series Kiotis, but I just came across them. Anyone seen one in person?

For $3500 I am kinda tempted here. What is a factory CK cab these days, $7 or 8000?

There are two lines, the entry-level "plus" cab and the nicer "advantage" cab. Honestly they seem very similar except that the advantage cab has glass side doors and glass rear window vs. clear vinyl doors on the plus cab, and a roll up vinyl rear window on the plus. For the nearly $900 difference, the plus cab seems pretty slick to me! Plus I like that the vinyl door windows go all the way down to the deck, for better visibility. And I suspect the door units would be lighter overall on the plus, making them easier to remove when desired.

Neither Cab web page has much info on the "included 20k btu heater". For that many BTUs, it must tie into engine coolant, right? I can't imagine an electric heater is going to give 20k BTUs without taxing the alternator and needing 0 gauge wiring.

Ok I could have spent a little more time researching first, haha.

The included heater is surely just like the ones they include for other manufacturer's tractors. Here's what they show for the Kubota L series. So I guess you have to decide how comfortable you are hacking into your engine's cooling system to steal some pressurized flow and routed up into the cab and back. A small electric heater almost seems like a better idea to me, all you really need is some potential to defrost the windshield. I know some guys like to plow snow in their pajamas, but I don't need a 70°F cab myself, haha.

No one has any thoughts?

Maybe I'll have to suck it up and be a guinea pig later this year.

I tried to get Curtis Cabs to reply to questions maybe 8 years ago, with zero success. We're talking simple availability questions for a particular model tractor. I ended up trading my open station for a factory cab.
Anyway, I've never heard anything negative about their products. I personally would not hesitate to tap into the cooling system for cab heat, and would prefer that to a potentially marginal electric option that could create more problems.
If you haven't already checked it out, "A Ritter Bit Will Do" on YouTube has done several videos on his BX with a Curtis Cab.

My son has one a JD at work;noisy and no air conditioning. No way near a factory cab.A friend put one on a L7800 Kubota, same thing.
Need to take the doors off in summer.

^ well yeah, thats kind of the whole idea. A cheaper cab enclosure for basic winter and rain protection, and doors off for summer use (don't need a ton of A/C in Michigan). I see curtis does make a rooftop A/C unit for their cabs, but once you're spending that much extra dough you might as well go factory.

Thanks for the input, gents.
