Anyone got a John Deere 435?

These 1959-1960 tractors were great. They were 430 low, wide fronts, but had GM diesels in them. Does anyone have one? I doubt it, but it'd be great to get a conversation going on these tractors. Here's the specs:

We don't have one. I was at the Farm Life Festival, which is a local, family led, but well known fair in this area. We happen to know the family very well. He let me drive it around for a while, great tractor.

As for what they're worth, it varies. An unrestored in bad condition, bout $3000-3500. Unrestored good condition-about $4500-6000. Restored good condition-at least $7000.

2 of my father's cousins have JD 435s. One bought his new and used it for decades on the farm (and as far as I know it still sometimes does duty pulling a hay rake), and the other bought his probably about 10 yrs ago and restored it. They're both Ford men, and about the only way they'd have anything that says GM on it is if it was in a JD. Those little 2 stroke diesels scream at WOT.

It's amazing that Deere even brought the 435 to market for the short run that it had before the new generation was introduced with 4 cylinder diesels available.

I have wanted one for about 10 yrs. Seeing this thread reminds me of how much I still want one.

Some day, my son, and hopefully my father can restore one together.

My Dad has one that he completely overhauled. That was a spendy operation for sure. His is also one of 371 assembled in the Monterrey, Mexico factory when Deere started trying to get some market share there.
As for a short production run, thats true in the states but they where built as a 445 in Argentina through 1970! My brother actually got a narrow vineyard version shipped back this summer. Thats a little 450 tiller on back.
