Anyone get on of these government surveys ?

2015 national agricultural classification survey . From the United States Department of Agriculture .

Got this one in the mail today with a cover letter . I 've lived on my property for over 30 years and never have received one before ( best of recollection ) .

I get one every couple of years or so. If you toss it, you will get a second response and a BIG warning letter in the packet.

And what happens if you ignore that?

As you can see, if you read the law, the penalties for not responding to the survey, or making false statements on the survey, are the same as the penalties for not responding to the Census. Under the constitution, you have no obligation to the survey, other than to insert your name and your address. If you throw the survey away and the USDA shows up on your doorstep, you can tell the person that you are not obligated to provide anything other than your name. Be firm! They will go away. As in the Census, the government does not levy penalties for not responding. It is a threat that the government seldom if ever follows through on.

I tossed it. My mail address is on a 1/4 acre lot in a suburb. The USDA did not show up at my door.

Occasionally. I think it says they are mandatory to fill out under penalty of law. They do not say that you swear by the data or the accuracy therein however unless it has changed.

I only received one of those surveys and I answered it; had no reason to not answer it.

Thanks all for the replies . The cover letter says if I 'm not engaged in farming, ranching, or engaging in agricultural activities, write " not farming " on front page and return form . That 's gonna be my choice as I don 't farm .

Dont answer it, they wont let you alone!!! If you do one its like they know your willing and will keed sending them to you. Once you do respond you cant not, they send the sensus workers after you.

I moved into my current home in 08. I have in that time done the "american communities survey twice", this is the census thats detailed, about your education level where you work how far it is, your vacation time, slaery, bathrooms, commute, wifes work, kids, family that lives there, how many kitchens you have and on and on! I have taken the census once..no biggie, and had that Ag survey, and taken a college graduate survey about my degree and the field i work in . All of them are federal census surveys no private stuff.

Got mine yesterday......did the same thing. "NOT FARMING"

Never received a survey. I lawyer told me that anything you get in the mail has is not legally binding to tell you what to do. There is no way to prove you actually received it. If you sign for it, then it's legally binding, but only if you sign for it. This also why nobody ever gets in trouble for not showing up for a juries summons. There is no way to prove you actually received it.
