Anyone following Suit-Sat?

Was looking at Suit Sat . It looked interesting. I ran the telemetry; looks like it will pass over our area around 2:50am PST.

I programmed my scanner with the frequency. Thought maybe my son and I could get up and listen for it. Apparently the kids can even get a certificate from NASA if they listen to it and send the info to them.

by your post, transmissions can only be heard when it is passing overhead or can it be heard continually on that scanner frequency?

Well, never mind... I just heard that it is no longer functioning...

From the NASA site, it describes only hearing it when it passes over.

From what I have read since my initial post, it appears the transmission is weaker than what was expected, so picking it up is difficult.

We'll still give it a try tonite, just for grins and giggles /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif
