Anyone ever "Turn Up" the fuel pump on a LS 5020?

I recently bought a 5020C which has a 47hp Mitsubishi S4Q engine. The dealer told me that it's the same engine as the 5030 (even thought the engine model is different) which has 55hp and that the fuel pump can simply be turned up to make more power. I'm wondering if this is in fact the case and, if so, has anyone done it?

I'm think about it for two reasons:

1. When I'm road running between spots in high gear, she bogs on even slight hills. I figure more power will help with that. And;
2. I do a lot of yard work in 12th gear (3rd range, 4th gear) which has pleanty of power, but screams at high RPM to move wuick enough, however, 13th gear (4th range, 1st gear) is fast enough, but doen't have enough power. I'm thinking the extra ponies will allow me to do my sand spreading, etc. in 13th gear.

The same is true for the R4041 / R4047 models.

I think you will find the S4Q is a 2.5L engine, while the S4S is 3.3L engine. They are not the same. HS

I have a 5020 and have noticed the same thing with those gears...its not too bad to work with but i find myself changing ranges as oppose to gear shifting

I am wondering the same thing..can pump be adjusted to increase hp?

I turned up the fiel pump at the end of march and it made a HUGE difference! There is no more lugging in high gear and in some of the lower ranges I can now do things and climb hills that caused the engine to lug previously. I had the dealer turn it up and put it on their dyno (not sure if chassis or PTO) and they claim about 55hp engine now. She smokes a little now though.
