Last night I blew my second fuse for the headlights, which also covers the dash lights.

This happens while parked, in idle, (in the dark of course, for maximum convenience) with the headlights on. All of a sudden the headlights & dashlights die, without affecting any other part of the system. It's a 15a fuse.

The first time it happened I chalked it up to chance, but now its gotta be something. I have not modified any electronics yet on this tractor. Where do y'all think the short might be?

Up under the hood near the 'firewall' there are 2 pigtails of I think 3 wires. They are for aux lights (On cab style models I believe). Make sure they arent touching anything, or maybe even better yet, tape them up! I forget what the colors are, but I have talked about them in another post back when I was asking about random things on my 3039 I think.

Just looked, 3 wires - Black, Yellow, Light Green

Black is ground
Yellow is side marker
Light Green is Blinker (per side - one side will have a Black stripe, should be the Right)

Did you find the culprit?

I'm also having problems with blowing fuses on the headlights. It would have been nice if they manual would show you where in the tractor the fuse panel was located.

FYI - I never got around to looking for a problem ... BUT ... since the only fuse I have available to replace it with was a 20a, I ended up using that. And sure enough, I haven't had a problem since. Maybe my tractor just wanted a 20a fuse there? :confused2:

I'm having the same problem, and yes, it would be nice if they would tell us where the fuse panel is located!

I'm thinking that it has something to do with the seat safety switch. Every time it has happened, it is when I have the headlights on, with the tractor running, & I hop off the tractor.

The reason I know it is connected with the safety switch, is because when it happened before and I did not replace the fuse, when I went to use my PTO to run my wood chipper, the PTO would not run when I got off the seat because the fuse was blown.

My LS3039R keep blowing fuses when the high beam headlight were on. It was a bad relay. Replaced under warranty. I am waiting for it to get here to replace it to see if that's the fix.
