Tractor
Kubota BX2660
1978 Sears Tractor, 18HP 6 Twin, 6 speeds forward, 2 reverse. 48" mower, 42" SNOWBLOWER, 4000W ALTERNATOR, Wheel weights, wheel chains, original manuals, extra blades.

Father bought it brand new (dated 2/1/1978 on the manual), and passed it onto us, so it has been in the family since brand new, every oil change and maint. has been recorded along with the manual.

Part numbers are in the picture below.

Both tractors are in excellent condition, well maintained, and probably better quality then many generations between these and newer, he waited for a decent newer one to come along reason each was kept as it was, we have since upsized to a Kubota, and will be selling these likely on craigslist or ebay. I have a decent idea of what I'll be asking for them, but would like to hear other's thoughts. Thanks again.

My opinion, the older one is worth more because you have more attachments and it was originally a stronger tractor. I'd say the older one would easily fetch $1250-1500 the newer one, around $1000 or so.

I would guess that if you could find a person who is needing one of these for their collection, then you could get close to $1K. But otherwise, comparing to some nice garden tractors I've seen on the *Bay including Case/Ingersoll and Wheelhorse, probably between $500 and $750. There was a completely restored one a while back similar to the first (older) one that did not reach $1K as I recall. But can't hurt to try higher.

Joe- that was in the range of what I was imagining, for someone to get a reliable tank-built mower & snowblower for $1500 or so is a great deal, and $1k for an HST well maintained mower I thought about the same.

larso- eBay does tend to get less money since shipping/travel is involved in larger items (same tends to be true of cars on there). I will likely stick with local advertising, as I thought about it more.

Thanks for the comments.

I got $1200 this spring for a ' 00 Craftsman GT5000 garden tractor with blade, deck and land plow. Some said I let it go too chep, but it was taking up space that I needed. I guess it was a good deal for me and the guy who bought it. Craigslist worked for me ...

That electric generator for the older one is a sought after attachment, and makes the value go up a fair amount.

Sorry to get off topic, but what is that finish you have on your garage floor? Is it slippery? Thanks.

Not real slippery, it is called Epo-Armor, it is a 20-30mil thick epoxy applied with a massive squeege. incredible strength and and heat resistance compared to common 'off the shelf' epoxy floor paints.
