I priced out chains for my Ford 850 this year. $775.00 for a set of 28x13.5. Is this now the going trend, or a spike for this year. I want to support my local dealer, but I can get them online for less than $550.00.

I bought a set for my little MF1020 this year, and online DELIVERED was $25-$30 cheaper than the local dealer could get them for. I'm with you, support the local guy but prices like this makes it hard sometimes...

My two cents- make sure you are talking apples to apples- namely country of origin and weight of the chains. Which is not to say that the local guy isn't selling junk, but just verify what you are buying-probably easier said than done.

That's good advice!! And I spent the time doing the research: both vendors were actually selling me the SAME product, using the SAME codes to refer to the products!

I cannot complain about the quality. I've been on the road a few times ith the chains on, so we will see how they wear...

Duo Ladder Tractor Tire Chains this is what I priced online, with vbars-see bottom picture and, all I can get from the dealer is Duo Grips.http://www.tirechain.com/13.6-28.htm May just have to get my set thru this winter, but the side chains are getting really thin, and I have replaced a couple of cross chains. Anyone delt with these guys?

OMG, what are they made of? GOLD?????:(

At that price, I would make it myself. It's so easy, making a Cake takes more work, LMAO !!!

The set for my tractor cost about $1,000 incl shipping...but their huge, heavy 3/8" chains.

North State Sales was the vendor that I went through: tractor tire chains

I found them to be fairly reasonable in price and shipping. My suggestion is that you do a little more window shopping to see if you can beat your listed price!

I bought a set for my L-35 from tirechains.com. First, I went to my dealer. He took me into his office, punched up that site on his computer, and said I should buy them online. I love that guy.

Anyway, about $400 for a set of 2-link ladder chains and tensioners, with shipping. I had them in three days. The chains are made in China :(, but they seem pretty heavy duty, with 3/8 inch links. I'm guessing they'll last me until I don't need them anymore.
