anyone a pro on ford tractors.?
will a sos trans (back half) from a 62 ford 4000 fit a sos on a 58 ford 861? the motors are all 2.8.

the tractor data suggests everything is the same. this should be a double disk clutch inside....requiring a 7502 tool to line up.

The answer to the question as posed is yes. Problem being, if the photo is purported to be of the 1962 4000, it is not a 1962 4000. The photo is of a 1965 or later 3 cylinder tractor and the transmission from it will not bolt up to those tractors referred to as 4 cylinder prior models. So if your question is will the pictured transmission bolt up to an 861 the answer is a firm no.

Yes. But none of the transmission options available for the pictured tractor will bolt up to an 861. Which by the way, if equipped with an SOS transmission is not an 861 but rather an 871 or 881.
