Just curious...
I've been doing a fair amount of mowing late into the evening with my L5030HSTC and have noticed that the front & rear factory work lights are barely sufficient. Actually, the rears are fine, but the front units don't light up much, and aren't much of a complement to the headlamps in a dark field. Don't get me wrong, I can see, but not much farther than the end of the hood.
Anyway, I was going to see what sort of bulb is in the Knight-Beam brand lights, but the parts manual indicates a 27W bulb, which I suspect is just an incandescent. As such, I'm probably going to look at replacing the lights with some trapezoidal 55W halogens, and was curious if anyone had gone this route? If I really had my druthers, I'd add an additional set of spot lights up front, to really light things up out in front of the tractor. That, along with a set of trapezoidal work lights, and the headlamps, would be really nice. However, I doubt the factory wiring would support the load.
Oh, yeah, final question. Are the headlamps replaceable as well? The parts manual seems to indicate that they are 27W as well, but I'm guessing they are probably halogens, so replacements would be readily available.
Any & all suggestions would be appreciated.
Thanks!
